The Series

Carrick Rising

A new documentary series from Invictus Films Europa, chronicling the journey of Carrick Rangers FC Women and their ultras, from Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, to the NIFL Women’s Premiership and beyond.

Directed by Augustina Elizabeth Produced by Alexander Emmert

Unstoppable Women.

The players of Carrick Rangers FC Women give a full day to everyone else before they ever reach the pitch. They show up anyway, into the cold and the wet of a County Antrim evening, for the game and for each other.

They climbed a division every season since the team formed. In 2025, they made history: the first team and the seconds each won a league and cup double. Now in NIWFA Division One, the competition is stiffer and their dedication is stronger.

One Team.

Dedication doesn’t stop at the touchline. On matchday, the club’s volunteer supporters, the Amber Army, open the gates, pour the pints at the supporters’ bar and work the merch stand. Long after the final whistle, they’re still there, clearing up and washing the kits for next week. No one pays them. They are ultras in the truest sense, and without them there is no matchday.

One Town.

Carrickfergus Castle rose above Belfast Lough more than 800 years ago. It withstood the sieges of a king, a Scottish army and a French fleet, then sheltered the town through the Second World War. Eight centuries on, its walls still hold.

Besieged. Battered. Still standing.

The castle’s strength lives on in Carrickfergus, roaring from the Amber Army every matchday. On the pitch, the players carry it into every tackle, every save and every goal.

The Club

Raising the stakes.

After a historic 2025, the club didn’t stand still. It built a girls’ academy, a clear path from the under-15s to the first team, and something the women before them never had.

Legends are built, not born.

To lead the women’s first team, the club brought in Fiona Mooney, a UEFA A licence holder who builds teams from the ground up. Ahead of her side lie the NIWFA Championship, the NIFL Women’s Premiership and, for the champions, the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

How high will they fly?
